I don't know about TVGA drivers, and I haven't loaded SSTOR, but I can run
Windows in 386 Enhanced mode just fine with DR DOS 6.0.
I had problems similar to what you are describing when I was using MS DOS 5.0.
Please try some things and give us (Usenet users) some more information
about your configuration.
1: What CPU are you using? 8088, 80286, 80386, 80486?
2: Which mode of Windows are you trying to run?
Try with all 3 modes (if 386) and see if the symptoms change.
3: MAKE SURE YOU *DO NOT* HAVE A PERMANENT WINDOW SWAP FILE ON YOUR
COMPRESSED DRIVE.
4: Check your CONFIG.SYS file for EMM386.SYS (or equivalent) and make
sure you don't have a /I= parameter. There are also other
parameters that relax the reserved memory checking.
5: Type MEM/A/P (or MEM/a > output.fil) and try to see if you are
using one section of memory for both TVGA and Windows.
6: Are you using any 3rd party memory managers? (QEMM, etc)
If you have access to Quarterdeck's Manifest program use that to
check out your memory areas.
The version of SSTOR that comes bundled with DR DOS is designed to work
with only DR DOS, however I remember reading a post a couple of weeks
ago from someone who bought DR DOS just for SSTOR and uses MS DOS.
Try putting a line for your SSTOR device driver in a bootable MS DOS floppy
CONFIG.SYS file (referencing the C: drive for the driver) and see if
SSTOR works when booting MS DOS.
Also, you may want to check with your VGA card manufacturer and see if
there are any known incompatibilities.
