I have not (checked the cable). You may be right, the cable may be bad, but
that sounds mighty unlikely, but, who knows, if you were right (but, yes I
di checked if it was correctly connected, disconnected it, reconnected it
...).... I'll let you know.

From more general point of view, I realise this is not a "Creative"
newsgroup, (like most newsgroup, it is tipically not owned by those people,
I am sure they rather not have them at all), but they seem to be less than
responsive. They don't seem to answer support e-mail request as well. It
seems that I am not the only one...

As far as asking Ziff Davis to survey suppliers, I am not necessarily saying
to use the newsgroup to rate a product or its support (or as the only
means), but it nonetheless gives a hint. Newsgroups as this one still
reflect the health of the products, systems or services on which they focus.
Happy people do not have stories to tell (that's a French saying, I don't
know if it translates well) ... I am sure there are industry benchmarks to
do that, and if not I believe it would be a desirable endeavour for a group
like ZD.

All I am saying, is, the industry rating is very often too much based on
marketing or technical descriptions and have sometimes little ties with the
real world (product fails to perform, support is absent... ). Would you want
to drive a car that works like say win95 or Creative drivers... Not new, but
it does not makes it better. Now, you can live with it and accept it as the
price of progress and keep buying products that do not work as advertised,
but I don't. After all, the government sues MS for violating anti trust, but
I think a lot of companies would deserve being sued for selling lemon
products (yeah, NIH). That would probably better serve people and progress,
instead of serving the holders at the NASDAQ.....

    So long.

    Xavier
