I am running Ultrix 4.3A, and want to mount all the NFS-accessible file systems on a single remote system. That system is also running Ultrix 4.3A. Right now, I hard-mount everything with entries in /etc/fstab: /@netsvc:/n/netsvc:ro:0:0:nfs:bg,nodev,nosuid,intr: /usr@netsvc:/n/netsvc/usr:ro:0:0:nfs:bg,nodev,nosuid,intr: /usr/local@netsvc:/n/netsvc/usr/local:rw:0:0:nfs:bg,nodev,nosuid,intr: /nu@netsvc:/n/netsvc/nu:rw:0:0:nfs:bg,nodev,nosuid,intr: /svc@netsvc:/n/netsvc/svc:rw:0:0:nfs:bg,nodev,nosuid,intr: I'd like to get the automounter to do it for me, and so I tried the following direct map, which is almost a direct steal from an example in the manual page: /n/netsvc / netsvc:/ \ /usr netsvc:/usr \ /usr/local netsvc:/usr/local \ /nu netsvc:/nu \ /svc netsvc:/svc This is supposed to mount all the file systems whenever the first one is touched. In fact it mounts only the first one: ls /n/netsvc lists the contents of netsvc:/, as it should ls /n/netsvc/usr lists an empty directory; likewise /n/netsvc/nu, /n/netsvc/svc ls /n/netsvc/usr/local complains that the directory doesn't exist The same map works as I want it to (all five file systems are mounted, despite the nesting) when I feed it to automount on IRIX 5.3 or Digital UNIX 3.2C. Is there a known fix or patch or workaround for my broken Ultrix automount? (Replies of the form `use amd' will be saved away and politely ignored for now; I have too much public-domain software running as the super-user already.)
