In the process of upgrading form ultrix 4.1 to 4.4 I have run into a rather =
significant problem.  The backups that I ran with tar on 4.1 can't be read =
by 4.4. =20

This is a big problem since much of this material is not reproducable, that =
is what backups are for after all.

I am hoping that I am not hte only person to run into this problem but I =
ahve reach the despiration state and will continue researching this problem.

I would welcome any assistance short of a match that would help
