Thanks to the many of you who replied to my plea for help with Compiling
GCC!

Of those who replied, some said the source from prep.ai.mit.edu worked
fine for them -- in the exact situation, and suggested I'd perhaps
configured things incorrectly. Others mentioned similar problems
installing GCC on ULTRIX, and some described the process of doing a
successfull install as pretty darn tidious from the amount of extra work
needed to be done. So no real consensous on what the problem was, or
even if ULTRIX is a "fun" platform to compile GCC for. =)

Not having enough time to figure out what would be causing all the
trouble, I took Leo Bicknell's (bicknell@ufp.org) offer of downloading a
pre-compiled GCC 2.7.0 w/ g++lib from his ftp site. It installs with the
standard ULTRIX install program, and so far, has worked like a charm.
Thanks Leo! (The binary can be found at
ftp://ftp.cslab.vt.edu/pub/local/ultrixkits/)

Thanks again everyone, and a good day to you all!

-Chris
