In search of TDF (to die for) pizza in DC, Greg Cohen writes:

I have only tried this place twice but enjoyed it immensely. I
don't remember the name of this small restaurant but it's on
Connecticut Ave. in Chevy Chase, MD... it's right where the old
train tracks cross (the tracks they've been talking about making
into a Bethesda Silver Spring trolley).

It's called Marcella's, and the pizza is as close as I've come in the
DC area to TDF pizza. It's good, but not at the level of, say,
Sally's in New Haven, CT. The cross street is Manor Rd, just inside
the beltway on the west side of Connecticut.

Also not bad is Stromboli's on Wisconsin, between Bethesda and
Friendship Heights. Their main attraction to me is that they also
serve decent calzones, which are sort of like pizza but baked like a
large dumpling, with the crust surrounding the fillings.

Also, if you like Cafe Paradiso-style yuppie pizza (I do, sometimes),
you might try Pizza d'Resistance in Rosslyn.
