Bells are ringing! Panjshir is the name of the place next to Bangkok-Vientiane. And I'd forgotten Bamiyan -- they are also excellent. I agree entirely. And if you're ever near Arlington, do give Kabul Caravan a try, Steve. By the way... for anybody who'd like to try a wonderful, small restaurant that offers Thai and Laotian food, Bangkok-Vientiane is a GREAT choice. Plenty of choice on the menu (especially the Thai menu), we've been /wonderfully/ treated on every visit (with anywhere from two people up to 22 people), and the prices are reasonable. They have a weekday (maybe weekends also) all-you-can-eat that's very reasonable, and out of the dozen or so items (including rice and a couple of soups) on the steam table, there were three or four that I thought were really superb and had seconds and thirds of. (Have only been there for brunch once.) Their spring rolls are out of this world! * Origin: 3 Point 14159 (1:109/70.4214)
