If you've never seen people do silly things... check out your local high
school.

Depends on the app. This person originally was seriously drag racing, but
by the time I talked to him had decided to show. We autocrossed (closed
road course) the next day, he didn't need to bother with the Nox. He won his
class, I won mine. I also flattened my cam lobes, that was when I put in a
hotter cam. A couple years later, when it came down to "do I supercharge, spend
15-20K on a Traco 383, or just buy a ZR1?"... Well, what would you do?
(especially considering many autocross/club events put non-stock charging or
numerous engine part upgrades into full-race classes requiring full roll
cages and such). In retrospect, I'd be better off financially if I had
just bought a supercharger, but then I never would have had one of the fastest
cars ever built on a production line. Can't complain, and there is something
to be said for buying an entire well-engineered package. On the other hand,
the older chassis _felt_ faster and more surefooted.
