I'm saying that there is no way to objectively determine whether or not
the accident was preventable. Therefore all such determinations must be
subjective. And almost all highway accidents are considered to be
somebody else's fault by all involved parties. So at least in this
respect this particular accident is not different at all: Somebody
else gets the blame.
My main theme, in case you haven't gotten it yet, is that those who
blame others for their road accidents are the ones who get more involved
in them. The only way to avoid getting involved in such accidents is to
strongly believe that it is ENTIRELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to prevent
accidents, and that YOU CAN'T DEPEND ON THE OTHER MOTORIST TO KEEP YOU
FROM HAVING AN ACCIDENT.

Perhaps it *was* preventable by you -- but we need more details. Only
you can decide what those details are. Those of us who were not there
do not know what else there was to know.
