One of the few remaining reasons I still us Windows is to sync my 
Handspring Visor (PalmOS).

Gnome-Pilot just can't seem to connect.  It's a USB cradle.  My Compact 
Flash reader is USB and works fine, and both work on this machine if I 
boot Win XP.

I'm not getting any errors except for the Visor reporting "The 
connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established."

Do I need to mount the device first somehow?  Anyone have an idea what 
dev/? to use?  The Gnome Pilot suggests /dev/pilot but that's not one I 
have.  I have /dev/pda  ../pda1, ../pda2 etc. and although I've created 
a /mnt/handspring directory I can't mount it-- "not a valid block device."

I feel like I'm missing a step but I can't tell which.  Advice (or even 
a solution!) is welcome.  If there's an install-fest coming up I can 
bring the whole system.
