Nope. A cop who continues to ask questions _may_ lose his job, but he
cannot be criminally prosecuted.

And some courts may accept things the questionees say. So there's some
motivation to keep on asking questions.

Most cops don't, because of the risk that evidence will be "fruit of the
poisoned tree," but not because they fear prison terms.
