I would also try checking the keyboard (ADB) connection, both at the
keyboard and at the back of the computer. If that falls out the keyboard
won't turn the machine on.

My 6200 battery died last week after a mere 17 months. Apple tech
support said they were supposed to last four or five years. It's a
Ray-O-Vac 840 battery, 4.5 volts, a square thing about the size of four
dice stacked in a cube, with velcro on the bottom to keep it in place
and black and red wires sticking out of the top which attach to a
special connector on the motherboard. $19.95 special order from Radio
Shack here in the States, 1-800-THE-SHACK, probably a little more
expensive from an Apple dealer.

My battery was reading 2.25 volts and the replacement will take a week
to arrive. In the meantime I made my own temporary battery by soldering
together 3 AAA batteries in series and splicing them into the connector
from the original battery. Works for me, for a while.
