Yes, I'm afraid it's me again after some help. I've a 286 machine running under drdos 6 with 2 megs of extra memory. Now my problem is this, I cannot seem to load dos into the upper memory area: well not quite true, I can do it, and it says it's done, however, the machine runs for approximately 10 minutes before locking up totally. Now perhaps I could understand this if I were running programs, however, even if I leave the machine doing absolutely nothing, having booted up, it still does the same thing. If I load dos conventionally, however, all runs well except for the fact that ka9q seems to object to not having enough memory and often stops running. Let's see, what else is important: I'm running a vga card, so my question is, should I be able to load dos into the upper memory area okay, if so, why does it lock up. The config.sys is as follows: device=c:\boca\bratemse.sys DEVICE = c:\DRDOS\HIDOS.SYS /bdos=auto SHELL=c:\COMMAND.COM C:\ /P /E:1024 BREAK=ON BUFFERS=15 FILES=40 FCBS=4,4 LASTDRIVE=Z rem HISTORY=ON, 256, OFF, OFF, OFF DEVICE=c:\ANSI.SYS so nothing particularly unusual there. It occurs whether I rem out the first line or not. Any help please, or am I asking the poor thing to do something it's just not capable of? ??
