India is going to be a rival to Silicon Valley soon because it's governemnt chose to invest heavily in this industry. The brightest Indians are attracted to IT because it is a growing area, a well paid and well regarded profession, along with the excellent chance of being recruited by overseas companies. As for the nurses, I remember shagging a nurse moonlighting as a prostitute in Nottingham. OK, so the shagging bit is exaggerated, but there were quite a few nurses forced into prostitution (as well as other second jobs) because of low pay. <thegarden@shed.net> wrote in message news:39eb2cfb.4215323@news.btinternet.com... > Two of the main and on-going problems at the moment, is the shortage > of Nurses and IT workers. > > I remember in the early 1980's talking to many trainee Nurses, who > had recently qualified and there was no places for them.
