Windows 95 sends two seperate "at" commands (about 2/100 sec apart) the default and the extra settings (as user defined):- i.e. in my case:- Windows 95 default Send: AT S7=30 S30=180 LM1 &Q5 \N4 %C3 &K3 BN1 X4<cr> Additional init Send: AT &f2 n1 w2 &c1 &d1 &k3 &q5 \n3 %c1 %e1 s7=60 s36=7 s48=7<cr> DOES THE SECOND OVER RIDE THE FIRST OR JUST ADD TO IT CHANGING ONLY THE CONFLICTING COMMANDS i.e. %c1 to %c3 ============================================================= ROBIN CLAPHAM Co Wicklow *** IRELAND ============================================================= Email:- *** rclapham@hibernia.ie *** Finance Directory:- *** http://ireland.iol.ie/~rclapham/finance.html =============================================================

How unkind! A candidate for Win 95 help blacklist? The latest invocation of anything in a modem init string over rides earlier setting of it, even within the one string so: ATX1X2X3 is equivalent to ATX3 > Serves you right for using Windows 95 > Should've stuck with Win311 Win 3.11 has its own problems...! end ---- * Rory O'Farrell * * Tinode, Blessington, Co. To address the issue, it is just like issuing two at commands, whatever commands are duplicated, the second one will override. You can either manually take control by using the "Extra Settings" field or you can hack away at the registry to manually modify the at commands. Obviously the first choice is eaiser.

Okay, Okay, just to show that I'm not all bad, I will admit that there is one little teeny weeny thing that would tempt me, namely MS Access95 has a few very neat new features, unfortunately there are just too many problems with W95 on networks, not to mention the cost, that restrict me from moving until the whole thing is stable and compatible enough to allow me to upgrade several 25+ user networks as well as me, and I can't see that happening until at least the NT/95 successor arrives. In the meantime, you guys enjoy Win95, I'll just keep developing with Access under 3.11, and at least all my networks will continue to work.
