Taking a sweet young thing t'dine within maybe five miles of the
vicinity of East Orangethorpe, South Placentia, and Highways 57 and 91.
I don't care about cuisine as I always prefer the unfamiliar. Being a
San Franciscan, however, ain't much unfamiliar.
Price isn't as important as value. The price, whatever it is, should
bear some relationship to the quality and quantity. Good service is
nice but I don't care about the place itself unless it's too noisy
t'talk.
I know there's a spaghetti place in the vicinity. Does it have other
food? I also know there's a Denny's there. I try hard to avoid chains
and franchises regardless of how good they might be.

Today, as an afterthought, she suggested Fullerton. So, to you, I
say "Yes".

Sesame bread with green onions at Mas' Islamic Chinese, $7.50. Would you like the sesame bread? Thick or thin? That's what your server wants to know the moment you sit down at Mas'. Each enormous round loaf is baked to order so they want to get yours popped into the oven right away. Say yes; it's incredibly delicious. The yeasted bread's top crust is crunchy, covered with tiny fragrant sesame seeds with just the right degree of toastiness. Inside, the flavorful interior has pockets of soft green-onion bits. An order is big enough for 10 generous pieces. Mas' Islamic Chinese, 601 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Anaheim, (714) 871-9166. -- Charles The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. Albert Einstein

Arne: when I said "there is a place" I am referring to the name of a restaurant, as we were talking about restaurants in that area. I specifically referred to the street Colima, exit from 60 at Nogales, etc., etc. I don't have to ask what those initials mean. > > This is fantabulatastic info for those of us who live in Southern > California! Riverside is the name of a restaurant I was trying to recommend to Iconoclast. I was very specific about the street and the exit from the freeway. That's really funny. It's like George Bush calling Kerry a draft dogger. Arne, I don't know. If you read my post, you'd notice I gave the freeway exit and street for the restaurant. OK I didn't give the street number, assuming Icono knows how to use google. But I guess that's not simple enough for you. In any event, I answered Icono's question. He seems to know how to find these places. So why don't you go back into your hole and.... STOP being an asshole. > > Arne

It's a long street that stretches for 20 miles or more in the city of LA, it's a city all by itself, it's a county. That you would casually drop the name "Riverside" into LA.eats without any qualification and then later pretend that you were talking about a Frisco restaurant is pretty stunning. We in Los Angeles and Southern California as a whole use or notice numerical freeway exits where? Be specific. Tell me where on the Ventura Freeway that an exit is touted by number that anyone who lives here knows. Exit 117 is coming up. Well, that could be White Oak or Cahuenga. It doesn't happen. So within the context of my reply, Riverside refers to the name of a restaurant which I was recommending to Icono. It means the name of a restaurant, to most people, even people in LA. Except of course not to you, brain on drugs. I don't know what Frisco is, but where did I "pretend" that I was talking about a "Frisco" restaurant? It will be much easier to know that exit 112 is two miles from exit 110 then is Nogales one or two exits from Azusa and how far away it is so one can start moving over early instead of cutting across four lanes because you missed the name on the sign because you were flipping of the asshole you jumped across three lanes because he wanted Azusa. Numbering is starting to show up, it will be much easier for tourist when they are told Get off at exit XXX which happens to be Katella so they can get to Mouseland. http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/signtech/calnexus/ You know I do miss taking the Pomona to the Golden State to the Pasadena. Now I have to take the 60 to the 5 to the 110. If you spent more time reading other things, you might learn something and we might see less of your lame posts. you aren't that far from 'the block' off the 22 and 5 freeways. there is the alcatraz brewing company (http://www.alcatrazbrewing.com/) which is actually pretty respectable. also check out one of my favorite all-time italian restaurants (the original is in costa mesa) which has a restaurant in orange: Pasta Connection 2145 W Chapman Ave Orange, CA 92868 (714) 541-0053 "placentia: the afterbirth of orange county" orlando In article <ei8ahu$k7a$1@soda.csua.berkeley.edu>, D. I neither know nor care. Although I've never lived there, I'm familiar
with the above roads as well as the Artesia Freeway, Pacific Coast
Highway, Santa Monica Freeway, Golden State Freeway, and possibly
others that don't come to mind. The number I know is the
Hollywood/Ventura as it's the same as Bayshore.

I can write "101" or "110" or "010" or "011" having no idea whether any
is right or wrong. I can write Jaliwud or Holiwod or Holliewould or any
of many other spellings and know that, perhaps none is correct, each
might be accurate for the road to take. Digital designations don't do
dat.

I know that the 101 is the Hollywood Freeway southbound from downtown LA until it rather dramatically becomes the Ventura Freeway (still as the 101) through that whole Cahuenga Pass deal. Fun fact: my father had to drive over Cahuenga Pass -- pronounce that correctly, idiot moron -- from the San Fernando Valley to go to work before the HOLLYWOOD FREEWAY was finished and got to see a whole lot of the outdoor filming of "Spartacus" in the early 1960's on the slopes of the Universal lot. BTW, the streetcar tracks had to be removed to put the freeway in. Campo de Cahuenga is directly across Lankershim Blvd from Universal Studios and adjacent to the Red Line station. It is the place where the Capitulation at Cahuenga took place and also known as the Treaty of Cahuenga that ended the secession of California from Mexico and it is the unofficial Birthplace of California.

Bravo! I live two blocks away from a former diagonal pass-through for the streetcars against the right-angle grid (it's now an alley, although it has a street name) -- from Hollywood Blvd. to Santa Monica Blvd. -- but I'm really happy that they're going to reuse the rights-of-way on Exposition for the new trolley from downtown to Santa Monica.
