Of course -- parking tickets go to the registered owner of the car.  The 
meter maid doesn't know who was driving when the car was parked, and 
it's not a moving violation cited against a particular driver.  The 
violation is that the car was left in the wrong place, and whoever 
*owns* the car has to pay for it.

That's also why anyone selling a used car should diligently file their 
seller's report of sale with the state, even if the buyer doesn't 
bother.  When that old heap gets abandoned along side the road two years 
from now and it still has your old plates on it, *you* get the ticket 
unless you already told the state you sold it.
