COLESLAW-2(V) USENET Cookbook COLESLAW-2(V)

HOT CABBAGE SLAW

     COLESLAW-2 - A spicy warm slaw

This came originally from our local newspaper. We enjoy it a
     lot.

INGREDIENTS (serves 4-6)
     2 Tbsp butter
     1/2 cup chopped onion
     1 tsp caraway seed
     1/3 cup water
     1/4 cup white wine vinegar
     3/4 tsp salt
     1/4 tsp tabasco hot sauce
8 cups shredded cabbage (about 1/2 cabbage)

PROCEDURE
          (1) Melt butter in a large skillet. Add onion and
caraway seed. Cook 5 minutes or until onion is
               tender.

          (2) Add water, vinegar, salt, and hot sauce, and mix
well. Then add the cabbage, and mix well again.

          (3) Cover and let simmer about 15 minutes, or until
               the cabbage is crisp-tender.

RATING
Difficulty: easy. Time: 5 minutes preparation, 20 minutes
     cooking. Precision: approximate measurement OK.
