I remember when I was in elementary school, just as Bill 101 was passed.
Even though both my parents had attended English school in Quebec, I was
never initially sent a letter of elegibility. The proper forms were
filled out but I guess had been "lost" somewhere. Anyway, at the
beginning of the next school year, I found out I was automatically
switched to the French side of the school, and nobody had told me. Here
I was, 10 years old, on the first day of school with nowhere to go. All
I was told was too bad...some system! Enough sobbing...my story did end
well after MUCH arguing and yelling on the part of my parents.
