I do pottery up at the Manchester Institute of Art (NH) and most of the classes are 100% women. I think you'd find that in most art classes. Even photography has more women than men. And pottery, especially, requires NO artistic skill if you're a beginner. Just the ability to like getting really messy. And heck, it's one way to find out if the woman's too prudish to get messy. *grin* > Well, I admit I've done my share of one night stands AND my share of long- > term committed relationships, there is no doubt that the latter is much more > satisfying. > > -jlk- I think people are looking for the satisfying aspects but forget that there is an underside to every leaf. Sometimes it takes WORK. Sometimes the other person is feeling prickly and disagreeable, and sometimes they get sick, and sometimes they don't do what you want, and sometimes they don't talk about it either. You have to be a bit of an amateur shrink - hopefully not a lot of the time, but every so often you have to put the "what's wrong" detector on and ASK what's up. With those short term relationships and one nighters you never have to put up with the person's seamy side, but you don't get the part where they're there when your cat dies or your mom's sick or your car breaks down and you need a ride or it's 2AM and neither of you really wants to sleep. --L
