Important Information: I'm literally taking my internet life into my own hands by reporting this to you, but I think that the existence of this "Waverly 9" must be made public! Despite the fact that it does not exist, The infamous Toronto Cabal has been a powerful force for Internet Stability, but what devious plan is being hatched by the gentlemen known to me as the "Waverly 9?" Are they scheming to usurp the Cabal? If they succeed will they also "not exist?" And if the Waverly 9 can also not exist, will resistance be totally futile for those caught in between these two titanic fictional forces? Some day last Month, you know -- the REALLY REALLY snowy day, there was a mysterious meeting in an office that was being used by the constantly moving Idiosyntactix crew. This meeting took place in the Waverly Hotel, arguably the Sleaziest Hotel in Toronto. Disturbingly, the following shady characters where in attendance: [in alphabetical order] The Waverly 9 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gard "Scriba Org" Abrahamsen Bob "Electronic Bill of Rights" Allisat "Dr." Joe Baptista Bruce "GTS" Becker Alexander "sasha." Braun Tom "HappyNet" Evans Eugene "Alter.NIC" Kashpureff Dmytri "Quirk" Kleiner Richard "VRx" Sexton The very thought of this bunch in the same room sends shivers down my spine! What possible conspiracy could bring this bunch together? Dare we imagine the worst? Will these characters explain to Toronto's concerned Internet Community how they came to be in the same sleazy, roach infested hotel lobby that fateful snowy night? Take care, my friends, take good care, we must get some answers out of this group for everything we love and need hangs in the balance!!! Will they admit that this meeting took place? Will they reveal it's agenda? Will they tell us what they where wearing? Strange Robes? The Waverly 9 must be Exposed! Spread the word!! Sincerely, Your Friend.

Sorry baby, the Waverly nine
is now short at least three
that I can see. Think you'll
have to re-name them the
Spadina Bus Six. Every time
I went to open the window
from all that SMOKE the poor
sots whined to close it.
And the agenda was let's
just say scattered. No so
much a meeting as a coincidence
One that is not likely to
occur again. Thank goodness.

Geeze Richard, at the rate you're
going you'll be lucky if you even
get wind of the meetings *months*
later. I mean, anyone who can't
tell the differance between server
push (in Beta) and an animated GIF
should have his Labac license
revoked. Check for yourselves...

Your friend. But not the person
who tippity tapped the leak article.
Stop smoking you guys. I don't
look forward to coming to visit
all you bad boys in the hospital
with cancer Chemo drips running
into and out of every orifice.
*Cough*, *cough*, *cough*...

Richard Sexton (richard@interlog.com) replied to certain allegations: : Uh, I dunno bob. Eugene & I were there to see the live streaming : video demo you said you had. When I realized it was : an animated gif, I left after 20 mins. Fun crown through. First of all, I had no appointment with you and Eugene to come to the Idiosyntactix office. I and Bob were to drop by the Alter.Nic office. The reason I and Bob were there was to take my machine away because I was no longer doing any business with Dmytri and Sasha, and I was kicking them off the server. Second, the original reason for you to be there, or soI was told before you showed up, was that you were planning to take your router away the same day, which is the reason why I chose that specific day to remove my server. Thirdly, if that was an animated GIF, then I dare you (and anybody else) to go to http://www.scriba.org/labs/ssp.html, right click on said animation an save this 'animated gif' to disk. Of course, there is the possibility that you might download all the images and manually create an animated GIF from it, which is why I would love to see an independant third party attempt the same. : You don't think we'd let you attend a real Cabal meeting do you, hmm ? One thing is for sure, _I_ wouldn't have been there. Perhaps the fact that I and Bob were there waiting for Bruce kind of punctured your plans, eh? Another important thing to not is that you guys left before Bruce arrived. And oh! The root password on VRx has changed, so I can't do this myself: Could you please reduce my account there to an entry in /etc/aliases (gard:gard@scriba.org) and remove my actual account? I have no intentions of ever logging on to VRx again, so not having an account there would be greatly appreciated. Thanx. Gard --

Bob Allisat (ab330@torfree.net) mentioned to Richard & Co: : Stop smoking you guys. I don't : look forward to coming to visit : all you bad boys in the hospital : with cancer Chemo drips running : into and out of every orifice. : *Cough*, *cough*, *cough*... Actually, this reminds me of a joke by Dennis Leary. But you know, the thing they put in your throat to let you speak isn't quite as cool anymore. I heard this woman in a book store the other day, she had a monotonous speech synthesizer attached to her throat, and every time she used it, she put her hand to her throat to enable it. Kind'a reminded me of old science fiction speach synthesizers. But it isn't these guys' _lungs_ I'm worried about, but that's a completely different story. Gard --

Well, this was the day I went to the Idiosyntactix office to take out my server for physical termination of all business with these guys du to abuse of my server. Bob Allisat was there to help me pack. Bruce Becker had a car. Unfortunately, the rest of the gang below appeared before Bruce, and thus caught us by surprise. What Joe Baptista, Alexander Braun, Tom Evans, Eugene Kashpureff, Dmytri Kleiner and Richard Sexton was gathering there for I have no idea, and I am not sure if I really want to know. I just wished I had removed my server sooner. Since that day, there was officially no business going on between Scriba Org and the above mentioned Waverly 6. I refuse to do any business with any of them due to incidents of a nature that I prefer not to elaborate on publicly. I resent any connection you might try to draw between Scriba Org and the Waverly 6. I resent any connection you might try to draw between myself and the Waverly 6. I was a victim reclaiming my property that day, not part of the conspiracy. It was Server Push Richard. And
it is very efficient and beautiful.
There are a few bugs. But when they're
ironed out it'll kick ass. When we get
the video streaming down watch out.
Also... I'll go one better than Gard.
Please delete any and all accounts
I may have had on your machines.
I'll have no further use of them.
Thanks for all the help Mr. Sexton.
Next time you say "No strings attached"
instead say "I expect you to agree with
me about anything and everything or *I*
take a hissy fit." It'll make everyhting
easier later on down the line.
Toodles.

It sure is Server Push, but I don't know about it being "efficient". It
really messes up when you're using proxies.
Wouldn't it make more sense to upload an animated GIF the same way, feeding
the frames you want to display, then when it's viewed a second time on a
system with a proxy server it'll look the same. The technology would be a
little hairier (you'd have to generate an animated GIF on the fly... I
don't know how well GIF adapts to streaming... PNG might be better) but
the result would be a lot cleaner.

It's not the software
it's the proxy that's
the problem. We find
more and more difficulty
in these proxies overall.
Some of them seem to be
doing a little more than
directing traffic. Seems
like a lot of interferance
derives from that source.
The softwsare, however
performs well for a Beta.
