And the reasons that we now do... that's right. It's the lack of a dress code and school uniforms! Do you really want to get rid of "drugs"? Great. Legalize it. If it's legal then there will be no "pushers" trying to build a core group of dependent users to buy the product. Legalize it, but outlaw advertising it (and add alcohol to the banned advertisments as well). Now you have a product that can legally be sold, but can not be advertised or marketed. Those that want it will get it, those that don't - won't. By the way, over 30% of the sitting justices in the united states support a program like this as it will eliminate over 60% of the current legal caseload as well. As for guns... gangs use guns, right. Now follow this logic... 1) Gangs use guns 2) guns cost money 3) gangs make money from selling drugs 4) If drugs were legalized, gangs would lose their income stream 5) gangs wouldn't have the money for fancy weapons As they say in politics, "follow the money". If you strangle the money source, you can kill this multi-headed hydra. You will never stop people who want to use drugs from using them (prohibition taught us that, remember), but you can eliminate crime associated to illegal activity (Al Capone's businesses all failed with the elimination of prohibition, as that was the core income generator for his machine). What has this got to do with school uniforms? It's to simply point out that dullard suggestions like school uniforms will eliminate drugs and guns in school are, well, foolish. If you have a sliced open aeorta, a bandaid won't quite do the trick, no matter how much you think it should.
