I'm white too, : as some others that were with me, but because we didn't appear to have : money, that's why we had problems there. My situation wasn't a racial : one, but Denny's has no problem discriminating against race or class, as : so many come to learn. It must be different where you are. On the East Coast we have mostly minorities working in places like Dennies, Bobs Big Boy, etc. The place in Maryland where the Secret Service agents went to was a very white area and they knew exactly what they were doing when they went there because one of the agents had a friend who admitted that they were looking for trouble that day. In fact, they made a statement to the waiter that they could have the place shut down if they weren't served more quickly. Clearly, the Denny's staff are going to be much more careful about serving minorities more quickly than Whites these days. I've told my waiter to serve the people next to me before simply because I knew Denny's was under scrutiny. He nervously acknowleged with an "I know" and we were on the same wavelength. But he was also a minority. Call it self-discrimination if you will. The white male is getting the bad end of the deal, even though we pay about 89% of the taxes in this country. Go figure! : > WildThing: : > Today, I've gone through all the replies to my posts in this group and : > they : > have come from you? Mutual respect okay? : I usually don't even look at the names I reply to. I read a post and : respond reguardless of author. If it looks like you've been targeted, we : probably disagree on multiple things. 187 is all I really tend to : discuss, but I take the liberal side on just about every issue. Maybe : you're an extreme conservative, in which case I don't mind targeting you :) : -- : Mosh Hard! Actually, I'm fiscally conservative, socially liberal which is perhaps why we don't see eye-to-eye here, but we seem to agree in another discussion group. ;-) Adios, Jeff
