I as well as others have advised CIRA that critical national infrastructure such as the master CA root server should be kept at a better facility than Magma's datacenter in an industrial park on the outskirts of Ottawa. CIRA is now planning to move its servers to 151 Front St. W. in Toronto, which is essentially the center of the internet in Canada. -Ralph

What is wrong with Magma's site, I have been all through it, its secure and fairly fireproof, why move to TO, thats a shitbox city, and all the datacenters, should be moved out of TO to begin with, what did you base your theory on! I would like to see a copy of your advisement, as if, D "Ralph" <nobody@uu.net> wrote in message news:8YFw9.10099$h_4.1553814@news20.bellglobal.com... > I as well as others have advised CIRA that critical national infrastructure > such as the master CA root server should be kept at a better facility than > Magma's datacenter in an industrial park on the outskirts of Ottawa. > > CIRA is now planning to move its servers to 151 Front St. W. in Toronto, > which is essentially the center of the internet in Canada. > > -Ralph > > >

Its just more 'TO is the centre of the world' stuff.

This is the first time I've heard you open your mouth and it looks like you know even less than I do. Either that or you work for Magma and don't want to see things objectively. Magma doesn't peer at TorIX, which CIRA will likely do after it gets its own AS and PI space. If something happens to the major infrastructure at 151 Front, it's going to get resolved a lot quicker than in the outskirts of Ottawa. As for the packet loss on my Ottawa-Toronto link, how's this? 500 packets transmitted, 500 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 24.5/37.1/214.3 ms Not that it matters anyway - I'll be the first to admit that IStop is not competing in the high-end colocation market. Magma might like to think they can compete but they're nothing compared to Equinix or Telehouse. -Ralph Jordan Davies wrote in message <3DC548B3.C7227FCA@nowhere.com>... >Everytime Ralph opens his mouth he shows how little he knows. > >1. of course using round robin for root servers is the only way to go, and they already do, which includes cyclic redundancy, packet loss is fact of life for any network, lallalalallalalalalblah blah , this is a dead topic, D ps, still waiting for copy of advisement to be posted, pls make sure it will stand up to scrutiny and verification, because I plan to check it. vent vent vent lol "Jordan Davies" <jordan@nowhere.com> wrote in message news:3DC548B3.C7227FCA@nowhere.com... > Everytime Ralph opens his mouth he shows how little he knows. > > 1.
