Interesting perspective.  The big question is whether these relationships
fare better than those based on starry-eyed romantic ideals.  Some would
say yes.  I don't know.

The one romantic ideal I can't deal with is the passivity trip.  
ie. True Love should just happen.  Yes, sometimes it does, but 
the chances are better if you make an effort.

GE sounds like an overly commercialized way to make an effort, but
I'm glad it worked for you.
