Hi all-

I've finally got into an apartment by myself and can hook my TV and
stereo system together (they used to be in different rooms).  Now that
I try it, I get hum through my stereo speakers.  I've got the TV signal
coming in on cable (no cable box) which goes into my Sony VCR and then
out to my TV (also Sony).  The audio signal is then routed out to one
of the line-level inputs on my pre-amp.  The speakers on the TV get
turned off.  However, most of the time there will be a loud hum through
my big speakers (could be 60hz - grounding problem?), regardless of
which input I have selected on my pre-amp - it only goes away when I
unplug the cables from the TV audio-out.  I've checked all connections
against the diagrams in both the VCR and TV manuals, and everything
seems to be fine.  Any suggestions on what could be wrong?  Please
