This tells me that YOU understand very little about Usenet. What gives anyone the right to remove a newsgroup? I'll tell you. Somebody thinks of a change and a reason for doing it. They write a proposal (the RFD) and post it to the relevant newsgroups including news.announce.newgroups. If the Usenet administrators agree that the proposal does not violate any of the standing guidelines, the posting is approved and a time is allowed for the proposal to be discussed. After a specified number of weeks, there is a call for votes. If more than 100 people vote, and if there is a two thirds majority in favour, then the peoposal is accepted and the change is made. THAT is what gives someone the right to change newsgroups. It's called democracy. >Please try and understand what Usenet is about. Uncontrolled >information...some of it old, but some of it new. New ideas are good. >New ideas are good. New ideas are good. New ideas are good. Stretch >your mind...think about something you don't work with all day! Proposing a change to the newsgroup structure IS a new idea. If you don't like it, then vote against it. If the overall vote doesn't go your way, you can't complain that the change wasn't done fairly. Cheers David
