I know that was a troll, but: (1) Rapid progress (or at least rapid change) (2) Multiplicity of sources (3) Standardization Choose any two. The Windows crowd chooses (1) and (3). The Linux crowd chooses (2) and (3). Microcontrollers have (1) and (2). I choose my tools on the basis of their performance and suitability for the job, rather than any overall loyalty to, or prejudice against, any vendor or cultural movement.
