In addition to discussion here, you can get a better sense of the answers to your questions by doing the 
following.  Send a copy of the salient parts of your work (that would clearly identify the scope and 
focus of your inquiry) plus notes taken from meetings with the advisor to: 1) the Chair of the 
department, 2) the Dean of the school and 3) the company/agency/department that funded the pilot.  Use 
registered mail, return receipt.  Suggest that a reply would be in order and retain the right to expand 
your mailings to relevant academic and professional groups, societies, assemblies, associations etc.
