A position is available at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto,
Canada, to study the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis during
Salmonella typhimurium infection. The research program is focused on
the identification and molecular characterization of microbial
virulence determinants and their mechanisms of action using in vitro
cell culture and animal models. The successful candidate will conduct
research into the function of type III secreted effector proteins that
mediate alterations to the host endosomal system. Motivated candidates
with a Ph.D. or equivalent and a strong background in cell and
molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in microbiology
and immunology would also be desirable. Applicants should send their
curriculum vitae.
