We have a player!

DanielSan asked one of the following 3 questions.

Name: DanielSan
Question1: Is my cat a tortoiseshell?
Question2: Will I get hired for construction?
Question3: Does God exist?

Here is my 'guess' which question he asked.
b77df81542f82636b6b34251b97406b2

DanielSan can now reveal which question he was thinking of at:
www.HercsHome.com/AskPsychic.html

Care to post the answer (question) DanielSan and I'll reveal my
guess which will match the given MD5 above.

I could post my guess here but you guys might cheat!

And therefore, you will never get your response because I need to see
the unencrypted answer to ensure that you won't cheat.

If you see the answer (my guess at your question) you can change your mind
and merely post a different question.

I have a 10 digit private key appended to your question and MD5'd.

That is not enough leeway to manipulate a MD5 collision with a different
one of your questions.

Therefore, it's impossible for me to change my guess and still match the MD5.

Any comp.sci types confirm this for DanielSan?

So, how should I answer the question?

Well 99.9999999% of the time it's impossible.

I can WINZIP your question with 256 bit encryption if you prefer,
then tell you the password after you have posted your question?

Tell me what question you were thinking of on page 1 of my forms.

Then I'll post 1 of these lines of text.

DanielSan p129 Is my cat a tortoiseshell? 4387473737
DanielSan p129 Will I get hired for construction? 3673737878
DanielSan p129 Does God exist? 3847473873

If my line of text contains your original question AND it MD5's to
the MD5 in this post - then I read your mind! ........ with 1in3 chance it was just a fluke.

i.e. I broke 3:1 odds on a paranormal test IF they match.

Yes, do that. Provide my original question in a zip and then you can
password protect it so I can't open it until I get the password from
you. I won't reveal my question until I have confirmation that you
can't change it on me.

That's not a question of interest.

You ticked: I have a genuine or moderate interest in finding out the answer to my question

Don't you know what breed your own cat is?

Null result.

I assumed it was one of the dummy questions.

If Daniel checked this text box it's not my fault.

You must agree to the following I have a genuine or moderate interest in finding out the answer to my question.

Looks like he asked a genuine question, forgot to ask genuine questions for
the other 2 options, saw I was calling him on the test and played switcheroo.

He either lied on the form or switched answers.

But I will keep an eye out for morons in future.

Don't assume anything. All three were questions of interest to me.

But Sylvia was right. The time to object was when you first received
the questions via your online form, not after the test was near the end.
You provided me a ZIP file and promised to provide the password once I
provided you with my question. I provided you with my question and now
you have to provide me with the password.

Or don't and be labeled a lying coward with no powers at all.

You said to provide a page number and roll a die. 4 was the line number
and 4 was the number on the die.

Question1: Is my cat a tortoiseshell?
Question2: Will I get hired for construction?
Question3: Does God exist?

D's answer was : Is my cat a tortoiseshell?

Herc then responded:

Which boils down to " I can pick what question you chose as long as
you choose the one I pick".

The weasel thinks that is a `paranormal power'.

You have a point that statistically I'm not breaking 3:1 if I apply validity
criteria after the guess has been posted. It looks like he changed
his answer to see what my guess was, since it's easier to forget to post real
questions on page 2 so his cat was likely a dummy question.... as in an unrelated
option question.

But skeptics won't consider the data anyway, not from a website form
not from a usenet thread. Because the passes could all be rigged from
communication between the asker and myself. All I can hope to achieve
is people ask me a question, I get most of them right on usenet and some of
the askers say I guessed what was on their mind.

Although if I guess 40 out of 60 questions, I'll have 20 angry skeptics booing
every thread and 1 person saying "he got mine right!".

Looks like I'll have to fork out some dough for MindReading.com and buy
1,000 hits a day unless people start taking me seriously on the skeptics groups.

But I didn't change the question, so pony up with the password.

Herc, what you're showing here is that you have no superpowers at all.

Okaay. tell you what, I deleted the dice bit, if the skeptics do a test I can
give that clause just to them to make sure they aren't looking up bad quotes
to defeat the power.

Just think of a page number 1-333, line number 1-33

and a new question of interest.

If you don't want to try again no harm done, thanks for participating, sort of.

I gave you three chances, one of which was so easy an
admitted faker would have scored at least SOME hits,
and you completely struck out.

I was more than fair with you, and you blew it. Completely.

I have no idea what you're talking about, except guessing what coin
was attached to something, which is trivial pursuit and not relevant.

The only reason you would want to see my guess was to see
if I was right.

That proves you switched answers.
