{Restaurants in Houston are now free to go non-smoking. Still, I must
{breathe smoke almost every time I go out to a restaurant. Personally, I
{don't care a hoot why a restaurant chooses to allow smoking. The result to
{me is the same. Without legislation, the bulk of restaurants allow
{smoking. So in this case, as much as I find government intrusion
{distasteful, I am in favor of no-smoking in restaurants and other public
{enclosed spaces.

Maybe if you stopped frequenting those establishments and spoke with the 
management the situation would change.  I think non-smokers should vote with 
their dollars on this issue.  There are more of us out there.  I personally 
raise hell if I can smell even a trace of smoke, and I don't go back to that 
restaurant if I can't be assured of a smoke free meal.
