Dummy, you were sworn to uphold the Constitution and defend it from
enimies both domestic and foreign.  If your government becomes an enemy
to your Constitution, what are you going to do then????? Sit on your
butt?  
Freedom is something that we have to constantly fight for. Even here
inside the USA, there are many on the left and a few on the right who
would take away our freedoms one by one, or through a complete revamp of
the Constitution. 
We have God given rights that preceed the Constitution which only
recgonizes those very same rights.
Therefore, though some fool may try to remove them, they are truely
inalienable.  
In this country, any out of control government would be met with a huge
amount of rebellion.  The feds know this and so does the electorate.
