How do you know it gives you 30% off of BC TEL? Do they publish an
actual cost per minute number, or are you just trusting that they are
giving you an actual discount? Have you got actual cost using BC TEL's
best discount package for the time of day you make your calls versus
ACC's actual cost for the same call at the same time? I'm just getting
tired of seeing 15% off, 20% off of someone else's best prices. But I
never actually see an actual "$"'s on TV saying here's the hard cash
value. I see AT&T waving their guarantee diploma on the tube, but I
doubt if any of the companies are really comparing apples to apples.
They are most likely comparing their best price against their
competitor's worst price.

That's like walking into Costco and looking for a new set of tires. The
only pricetag you see is "20% cheaper than Canadian Tire." No actual
dollar value. Do you just mindlessly pop out your Visa card and buy 4
of them. Then when the bill comes in do you just assume that the nice
guys at Costco ran out and checked Canadian Tire, knocked 20% off and
sent you the bill? Who would buy something without knowing the exact
price first?

I don't know. I think anyone who is blindly trusting someone to give
them the best discount without a bottom-line price is being hood-winked.
