On Wed, 31 Oct 2001 21:39:37 -0500, women fainted and men gasped when big_daddy.nospam@thediapersuperstore.com casually remarked: >In dc.general John Gilmer <gilmer@crosslink.net> wrote: > > >>> I'm asking you to find some GI's that are out there risking their lives >> for >>> US. I went into the local recruiting office last Friday to >sign up! Yesterday, I went to Fort Belvoir and passed the test. > >Big Daddy > you were in 'Nam and got back in now? I thought there was an age limit? And yes I remember those days as well. Sometimes we could get special services to connect long distance calls via ham radio operators and that would save us a few bucks a minute on long distance calls. I remember also having an APO/FPO address *guaranteed* at least an extra week to two weeks delivery time on any packages. And there wasn't any guarantee that the packages would arrive in anything resembling good shape either. But hey for $10 you could ride a MAC flight on space A just about anywhere in the world! As long as you didn't mind riding a C-130 in a seat facing backward staring at your cargo because there's no windows while the condensation dripped on your head. But you couldn't beat the price! Ah...the good ole days..how I miss them! ;-) cheers, 01dyna 01 FXDWG AMA Lifemember... DoD#0628... HOG,MANS etc etc.
