I have DSS, and for those of you who are in remote areas, they do offer, for $10 a month, access to network TV. The channel selection is from all over the us, but the ABC affiliate is from Washington. There are two of each ABC, NBC, CBS and fox, and also pun (I think). And I must say that I, too, will never go back to cable. The picture is always perfect, the sound is extraordinary, and the channel selection is great! I paid $150 for the dish ( after $200 rebate from DTV) and I have about 50 regular channels, 30 music only channels, commercial free, and I have 5 HBO choices. The whole package costs me $40 per month. Check it out...you will be pleased! Incidentally, I installed it by myself in about 3 hours.
