I find myself unable to import eps files generated by Matlab 4.0 into Framemaker. I get a frame, but no graphics either on the printer or the screen. The Mathworks says the postscript generation is improved in 4.0A, but that didn't directly answer my question of whether this particular problem will be fixed. Does anyone else know? --- Jeffrey C. I wrote my Master's Thesis using MATLAB 4.0 and FrameMaker 3.1.1,
and I also experienced your problem. However, I solved it using
the following technique:
save in ps-format from MATLAB (print [filename] -dps)
convert from ps to epsi using a program called pstoepsi.
This epsi-figure is importable in Frame, and can be
seen on the screen, and the size can be manipulated etc. etc.
I'm afraid I don't know where you can find this pstoepsi
since it was installed on our system by someone
other than me. You can try archie, perhaps.

I just had to create some graphs to include in FrameMaker 3.1a (or x)
with version 4.0a Matlab. The print command with -deps and -preview
worked just fine. I could rezise and move the image around, but I
could not see the actual graph just a gray box representation. See if
you site can upgrade to 4.0a that may solve your problems. (I still
wish I could see the graph though).

We have had the same problem at our department. We are using
FrameMaker 3.0X and MatLab 4.0a. The problem is that MatLab
puts the line
%%EOF
at the end of the file. If you remove
that line it should work. If you want to see the graphics in
FrameMaker, use the -preview switch:
print -deps -preview filename
it takes up a lot more disk space, but it's easier to
place the graphics correctly in the document. If you do not,
you will only see a gray area.
