That story is good for a laugh... there was no mention of the corporations
that supported the spammer, and these corporations will now find another
sucker.... his sister paid a fine of $7,500 and they made 24 million in
profit, seems like pocket change for a fine.... since it showed such profit,
any bets another ten thousand fools will try spamming for profit.... the
story also never mention the other nine of the top ten spammers... and I am
sure that hotmail.com is on the list, since the prince of hypocrites owns
it... hotmail isn't free, it costs you spam.. the marketing never tells you
that, but Microsoft is good at marketing vapour reality... similar to their
government etc :)

I'd bet that if one adds up the few seconds that are wasted for every
individual spammed, it would add up to the equivalent of years of lost
time ... comparable to a serious assault in terms of life-time lost.
Then add up the dollar cost of bandwidth used by all the ISPs which
process the SPAM, and then the cost of lost opportunity / speed with all
of the individual PCs that have been co-opted to assist in sending..

If we were talking about a single piece of SPAM / chain letter, or
whatever, it's significant.  Multiply that by the hundreds, no
thousands, no actually at least 10s of thousands of different pieces of
SPAM, then he has cost many lifetimes worth of misery.  Hang the rotten
son-of-a-bitch.

good number of those chain mails, he's quite a gullible fellow.

video taping a movie in the cinima is a 5 year jail term for first offence and 
10 for second .. yet basic rape will only get you 3-5 years if they can prove 
it, less if you admit you did it.

Yeah, but we're talking about spam, here. 8 years isn't nearly enough. 
He should get 10 years, plus a $2,500,000 fine, as well as having a very 
powerful magnet installed in his skull, so any time he gets near a 
computer it fritzes out, so he can never do that again. Make an example 
of him, and do the same for anyone else who tries it. Eventually, people 
will stop trying to spam and we'll have tons more bandwidth available 
for use. :P

Not sure about the magnet, but the fine I think should be 75-100% of the profit 
made during the commission of the crime and yes a higher jail term would be 
better too, but honestly, nothing short of corporal punishment should be accepted.

You are dumb.  100% forfeiture 300% taxation and reclamation on any
associated accounts or assets(trust funds, college funds, stripper meth
