Uranium Ore is not Radio active so is harmless ore

Mr Carpenter has an ad campaign claiming that Radio active Uranium Ore will
be going past schools to the freo port.
What a load of rot. Any ore out of the Kimberly which is where the Uranium
is goes to a Kimberley Port where there
are rail lines. Uranium Ore is not radio active. If it was there would be
thousands of dead workers which handle the
ore by hand every day of the week.

Nuclear Waste is a by product from nuclear reactors.
I cannot believe the media in WA not looking at these false ads at all.
People are believing it in the masses.

WA has to be the worst educated state in Australia. People are believing
that
uranium ore is radio active because the premier is saying that.

Come on Perth media do your job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Libs ought to do an ad from South Aust showing miners handling the
uranium ore.
Or ever gone campaign up north. You've probably walked over uranium ore.
WA has 40% of the world's uranium deposit. Get it out of the ground and sell
to China
and fix their carbon problems or leave it in the ground and sell coal to
China which
is what is causing pollution problems the world over.

If WA was to sell uranium they would get the world carbon levels down.
Surely its worth doing.
And the money it would bring to the state would be $15 billion per year
which could pay for
all the problems that WA now has. Would get unemplyment down even further.

When you learned this, where did they tell you the radioactivity creeps
into the cycle from?
Yellowcake emits low amounts of radiation, probably not enough to cause
health damage except from intimate exposure over an extended time.
It has a chemical toxicity similar to lead or mercury.
The world over, care is taken in its handling and transport and people
in various locations have objected to its free transit.

Bullshit , uranium ore does have low levels of radiation in it's natural
state (U235 & U238 ) and it is refined into yellow cake that has a higher
concentration of radioactive elements.
Also Yellow Cake if fairly toxic to people , it is a heavy metal , just like
mercury and lead.

Why don't you get your facts straight , I bet you don't even live in WA ,
and have no idea where are the iron ore ports are located , not to mention
the fact that the rail lines from the iron ore depostis to the ports are
PRIVATELY OWNED , so you will have quite a problem trying to get access to
those rail lines as was the case recently .

Then the media should also be looking at the false and deceptive adverts
that Barnett is using.

Physics is not one of your strong points is it ? , perhaps you missed those
classes and opted to go and get pissed out of your tiny brain at all those
Young Liberal parties , I have heard all about them from other sources than
the media.

Typical Liberal idealist and how to treat the workers , getting the mine
workers to expose themselves to dangerous workplace practices all in the
name of money for big businesses , I wouldn't be surprised if you expected
the mine workers to work without any personal protection equipment ( PPE)

Yeah , and pollute other parts of the world with radioactive nuclear waste ,
particulary China , they don't give a stuff about pollution , all they want
is to exploit the workers and generate a massive profit.

Correction , it would NOT bring massive amounts of money to the state Gov ,
all the uranium mining profits would go to Barnett's mates in the big
business sector.
All the crap about uranium you are dribbling about is not for the benefit
of the WA community , it is all for the Liberals and Barnetts mates in the
multinational companies , particularly the mates of Malcolm Turnbull who
have already formed a company to build nuclear reactors in Aust.

It was the same as the Ken Court's proposed iron ore port at Oakagee , it
went belly up because everybody knew it was for the benefit of Ken and
Richard Court and all their business mates at the big end of town , after
the Libs got turfed out of Gov , the Labor Gov put it on the backburner
until recently so as to stop all those Liberal arseholes from getting even
richer.

Yes, low levels. Not particularly dangerous.

Somewhat less toxic than lead, in fact, and people drive around with that on
trucks just fine.

And that's why miners in WA earn $100k +

WA is built on mining. Large scale mining can only be done by big companies.
Malcolm Turnbull lives in Sydney's eastern suburbs, not WA.

Uranium ore is already freighted on trucks in to Perth which is allowed.
What people fail to understand is that gold mines often have uranium ore and
other minerals which get seperated here in Perth.

The gold miners are starting to get worried. If Carpenter bans anything to
do with uranium on trucks or any other form of transport then they hav eto
close.

I believe an ad about this will be aired this Thursday along with other
scientists
holding a chunk of ore with a guider counter which shows more radiation from
a
persons watch on their wrist than what is in the ore. Everything emits
radiation of
some kind.

The ALP here in WA are going to look mighty foolish when these ads air
on Thursday evening. One of the ads is that uranium ore is being freighted
into
Perth from the Gold Mines which Carpenter allows which is the exact same ore
he's against.

Then there is the medical use of Nuclear Medicine which is in most of the
hospitals in Perth and every other city around the world.

Another moron taht has no clues or ideas.

Most mines in WA extract Uranium Ore with minerals like Gold.
Then its sent to Perth to remove the urtanium ore to be left with the Gold.
No one has died or been eradiated by uranium ore.

In SA miners touch the uranium ore with their hands you fool.
Its so safe. If it was deadly where are all the bodies fool.
The unions allow members to work for companies that mine
for Uranium in SA fool.

160 Uranium Mines in South Austrqalia and growing. Not one single death
by radiation. There are over 20,000 miners on those 160 uranium mines and
the mines have been in operation for 30 years and not a single person has
died
from radiation poising which makes you just another left wing loony that
knows absolutely nothing at all.

This coming from such a corrupt government such as the ALP.
The CCC has 5 ALP ministers that were forced to resign over corruption.
And another two that are so bent they don't know what is legit.
M Roberts will likely be in jail before to much longer over the unit affair.
Then there is Fran Logan who failed to properly inspect the gas line that it
exploded, was probably to busy having sex party with those threesomes that
he organises.

ALP the most corrupt state government even out doing Burke an dhis cronies
that all went to jail.
Libs get in there will be a royal commision into all this and many will end
up in jail. Already a federal
senate inquiry about to be set up in Canberra.

What the pushers & libs fail to understand is that, paranoia or not, it
would take more than a party trick of an "expert" waving a geiger
counter over his watch or the suggestion that gold miners are
transporting tons of uranium because they can't get it out of the gold,
to make them believe they are not being sold the dummy.

Well at least I KNOW where the iron ore ports in WA are located and that
the iron ore rail lines are PRIVATELY OWNED.

Safe do you reckon ?
That's what the big companies said about blue asbestos back in the 1940s -
50s
Just because the workers don't show any adverse symptoms immediatly doesn't
mean that they have none , maybe they will show illness / cancers in 10 - 20
years time for mining uranium.
Also the mining sector , particulary in WA have a very bad work safety
record.

So if you think it is safe , then why don't you move to SA then ?
At least I know how to spell AUSTRALIA

Correction , there is not 160 uranium mines in SA for the last 30 years ,
South Australia has only 3 uranium mines going by the press release by the
SA Gov in January 2008 and they are :Honymoon , Olympic Dam and Beverly

<http://www.pir.sa.gov.au/minerals/press/south_australias_third_uranium_mine_approved>http://www.uraniumsa.org/http://www.uic.com.au/emine.htmMaybe the so called "160 Uranium Mines in South Austrqalia" ( note spelling! ) are really just exploration licenses or claims/ proposed mines , orperhaps you have googled wrong and come up with SA as in SOUTH AFRICA.Probably you have been reading little Johnny Howard's bible about hisuranium empire if he had won the Nov 2007 federal election.I think you are the real moron around here.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Naked DSL ?No thanks , I like to wear clothes when I use my computerSandgroper------------------------------------Remove KNICKERS to Emailwoodbudgie@KNICKERSgmail.com

Mercury i sthe most deadly toxin in existence yet its sold in most
stores as its in those long life lights. Break one and call the fire brigade
in because
if you breath in mercury you don't live to long after that, its worst than
nuclear waste.

The WA Electrical Commission is looking into it and they say that the ad is
misleading and
it could cause another state election if the ALP win this one. It was on
Perth ABC1 this
evening. You claimed I did not even live here so how would I be able to
see the news fool.

Does anyone bother to think in the ALP before doing an ad. Do they not
understand
the laws governing elections?

I'm a Perth miner who flies in and out of Port Hedland. I work 3 weeks and
have 10 days off.
Many of my mates are not happy with Carpenter at all and are going to
approach him about
all this nonsense on uranium ore which is going to effect the iron ore
industry who we work for.
If they are going to ban uranium everything then we are out of a job because
its well known
that uranium ore along with other metals are in with iron ore.

I get paid $180,000 a year and Carpenter is risking all that and will end
the BOOM in WA.
I've sent emails to the WA Union over this and they too are not happy and
are about to do their
own ads on this along with the mining companies. Carpenter brought this on
himself for cheap politics
and now its coming back to haunt him.

Good on the ABC for reporting it.

A march on Parliament house is organized for this Friday over this fiasco.
Miners, unions and workers will be there in force. Media outlets will be
notified.

Also the mining sector , particulary in WA have a very bad work safety
record.

<snip>

So if you think it is safe , then why don't you move to SA then ?
At least I know how to spell AUSTRALIA

Correction , there is not 160 uranium mines in SA for the last 30 years ,
South Australia has only 3 uranium mines going by the press release by the
SA Gov in January 2008 and they are : Honymoon , Olympic Dam and Beverly

http://www.pir.sa.gov.au/minerals/press/south_australias_third_uranium_mine_approved

http://www.uraniumsa.org/

 http://www.uic.com.au/emine.htm

Maybe the so called "160 Uranium Mines in South Austrqalia" ( note
spelling! ) are really just exploration licenses or claims/ proposed mines ,
or perhaps you have googled wrong and come up with SA as in SOUTH AFRICA.

Probably you have been reading little Johnny Howard's bible about his
uranium empire if he had won the Nov 2007 federal election.

I think you are the real moron around here.

Sounds like another one of these grubs that always whine about their pay

Yeah , probably one of these grubs on a AWA , "stuff everybody else , I
WANT my big pay packet"

Which union ?
Probably the AWA , "Australia's Weakest Union" and the bosses' union.
Yeah , I bet you aren't even a union member , hate their guts , but will use
them to keep your job and working condtion when it suits you and then whine
about it when they can't help you because you are not a union member.

Will find out about it , but a march organised on that of short notice will
not get many people , more like it is a stunt engineered by the Libs on the
day before the election.

Is it now? You can drink the stuff without any side effects.
It'll just go through your body exiting the natural way.
Its chemical derivatives on the other hand are an other story.
Man, why do you meddle in things you know nothing about.

But do not despair.
Have instead a supper consisting on botulinum toxin on toast and a
dioxin cocktail to wash it down with.

**Complete bullshit. Where do you dredge up this nonsense? Here's a few
toxins you should Google:

* Arsenic.
* Plutonium.
* Potassium Cyanide.
* Phosphorus.

You expect the non-mining public to be sympathetic with that? The state
is flat out mining iron and the workers would just migrate to uranium
for more money still, leaving us to accommodate "guest workers" to cover
the existing industry... if they can be found at all. No net advantage
except you pull more money and raise the cost of living for everyone else.

Yikes.

You're even more ignorant that I had previously thought.

The study of radioactivity is as close to pure physics as it gets.

There's one confirmation for the ignorant tag.
Go to the library and see if you can find the nuclear chemistry section.

You would have to be an idiot of course.

AND Nuclear Chemistry....

http://www.google.com.au/search?q=nuclear+physics+%2Bchemistry&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

They are all probably a bit more knowledgeable than you and I...

Nuclear chemistry might concern itself with chemical toxicity of
yellowcake, but then again probably not if it emits negligible
