DNS Tables not correct (or something)

I believe there is a problem with mail routing. EnterAct changed there mail
system around yesterday. EnterAct's my web host service. For some reason I
can't get mail from WWA to my domain name on EnterAct. I can mail from any
other system with no problem.

I (and EnterAct) checked this out by sending mail from various places
(bu.edu, compuserve.com, aol.com). No problem. I only have a problem from
my WWA account. Odd thing is that I'm not getting a MAILER-DAEMON message
of "unknown host". Mail is just disappearing. I've sent mail from Eudora on
my PC and PINE from the WWA server. This problem began late yesterday.

I called Verio support last night. But had to hang up after being on hold
for 40 minutes. I called again this morning around 9:30. After 45 minutes I
got a tech. He told me there is nothing that can be done until the "real
engineers" get back on Monday morning (I assume this means Sabrina, Tim,
etc. in Chicago). So much for 7x24 support.

I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar problem. I'm pretty
sure the problem is at WWA, but this is difficult to figure out. Not
getting a bounce message from the DAEMON bothers me the most. I'm hoping
that only message sent from WWA are getting vaporized.

Does Verio have a "spamblock" type of system in place?

(If it does, the next obvious question is "you CAN override it personally as
a customer, right?")

This should be easy for Enteract to test - they can telnet from their mail
host into the WWA/Verio SMTP port, MANUALLY transmit a message, and see if
the appropriate "yeah, ok, we got it and will deliver it" message comes
back from the SMTP server.

If it DOES, then the presumption is on the Verio/WWA server as being either
(1) intentionally blocked, or (2) broken. If it does NOT, then the error
message at that level SHOULD HAVE been returned to you at Enteract (which
apparently didn't happen).

I forwarded a few of usenet posts to myself from work yesterday (wwa >
wwa) that never arrived. A peek in the ol' junkmail file reveals that
the spam is still getting through.

I've been testing this out on my own since Verio/WWA won't look at it until
Monday.

The problem does appear to be a WWA only problem. When I sent a mail
message to my domain using Pine from the shell, I got a bounce back
MAILER-DAEMON message saying "unknown domain". I was able to send mail
from other sources such as CompuServe, AOL and a couple other non-WWA
sources. I'm not clear on why I get the bounce back when using Pine and not
from Eudora but that may be another problem.

Another interesting piece: I've sent several e-mails to support@wwa.com.
The return address is my domain name that is in question
(jjacobus@ponyx.com). The automated e-mails from the WWA support system are
getting to my domain, but e-mails that I send are not. The header shows
that support@wwa.com mail comes from maki.wwa.com.

Are there multiple DNS tables to handle mail from different systems?

Well, I'm just a private citizen now, so WWA stuff is really none of my
business, but... was ponyx.com once hosted by WWA? If so, I'll bet
dollars to doughnuts that it has something to do with that.

Moments ago I sent mail from pine on my WWA account to my account at EnterAct.
All test message were received at EnterAct. This popmail changeover is a pain.
Be sure to set your POP address in Eudora to login@pop.enteract.com. DO NOT
use login@enteract.com you will not see your incoming mail.
