Katy, I always would only say "some" and not "all" because the nitpickers on
the Internet usually find some technical gotcha otherwise. That is, these
people get caught up on the details instead of the general message being
conveyed. After a few hundred "gotcha on a detail" aurguments, I've learned
to automatically insert "some" in *every* Internet statement I make just to
keep the discussion going on more interesting tacts.

That being said, Katy, I'm going to pose something more mixed than what you're
saying above. I think that *some* women genuinely have these urges while
*some* other women genuiely don't (or they lose them over time.) I can't
tell you the number of women I've seen in their 40's who publically espoused
how happy they are to be celebate. (These were/are friends; not women I was
making a pass at.) In the "Dear Ann Landers" column I've read
multiple times about older women not wanting to have sex but just wanting
to cuddle with their mates. (Many espoused giving up sex altogether.) Of
course the guys wrote back with another view on this topic! :^)

The only thing I'm trying to say is that biologically there's a great source
of conflict over the frequency & intensity that most men want versus what
some women and other women want in their sex lives.

Before I get flames galore for saying what I said, let me refer you to today's
Ann Lander's column where some poor guy has been married to a woman who
told him to go elsewhere for sex and hasn't gone to bed with him for 9 years.
The guy was bummed because he's the monogamous type and felt he wasn't good
enough looking to have a wife approved affair.

Two weeks ago on Saturday there was an Ann Landers column where a wife wrote
that hubby was caring, supportive, great in every way *except* he got grumpy
if they didn't have sex at least 3 times a week (which wifey thought was a
chore.)

In both situations, from the male perspective, this was/is a nightmare! I
mean with all the media's hustling of wife/child abuse, horrible divorces
and such; even when the guy's good there's still a good chance he can
still lose. I find the prospect of many people's elusive search for
personal happiness very depressing. There's just too much working against
anyone achieving or keeping it.

How sad. But not surprising when you consider that your positions are
supported by Ann Landers' newspaper column.

Third date ? Not here.

One of the foremost things I expect in a girlfriend / life companion is the ability to enjoy sex without
any second thought, especially guilt.

Needless to mention, a such person isn't likely to wait 3 dates.... :-)

You've got that right. There's another problem with the internet which
makes argument even more difficult. There's nothing at all which stops
a person from saying what he or she WANTS his or her behavior to be
rather than what it really is. That runs across the board. There's simply
no reality check, so the biggest asshole in the world can go on about how
women don't like "sensitive men", or the biggest harpie can write pages on
how man are intimidated by "strong women".
In addition, with this newsgroup everyone knows what the "correct" answers
are. I'm waiting for the woman who will admit that she does like being
submissive, or that she has problems approaching men in real life (like
we don't know any women who've said that). Or a man who writes that he
enjoys paying for dates since it lessens his obigations later, since
basically he's only after one thing.
I'm also waiting for the tooth theory to slip a few twenties under my
pillow for all the baby teeth he missed when I was little. It's never
going to happen.

That was true long before anyone, any -where-, even dreamed of a concept
called 'internet', and will likely survive long after the network, and
everyone on it, has vanished. Where do you suppose the phrase "Caveat
Emptor" originated?

You obviously havn't tried the right '*.personals' group.

I like both submitting and dominating, but I'm not a woman
so I guess that doesn't help you. But try alt.sex.bondage ;-)
