Are both these parties for or ahainst global warming? I get the destict feeling that both parties are skeptical on global warming. The Greens have a preference deal with the ALP WA which has to mean they are for coal power. Just the other day they wanted solar only. The Greens as stupid as that other party of the democrats which are thankfully no more. Who on earth would anyone block uranium to China. The only way they'll get the greehouse down to by going nuclear energy. Bob Carr former NSW Premier goes further and thinks Australia should be powered by nuclear energy. His comments were in todays West Australian News Paper. Carpenter at odds with the South Aust premier and the NT as they have both been exporting uranium through their own captial cities for the past 40 yeears and no problems what so ever. Lead on the other hand is a problem, just ask the people of Esperance where another cover up has taken place. Wildlife all dead which includes birds and fish. First they thought bird flu wa in the area due to all the dead burds. Now it turns out lead poising in the area thanks to the WA ALP Government who were to lax with all of this. Carpenter is building two new coal power stations in collie with another 3 on the drawing boards. Are they that dumb and have no idea what is going on in the real world. If they want carbon credits they can build coal if they want to and sell uranium to China who are rthe biggest emitters of greenhouse on the planet but we West Aussies are the biggest per capita which is embarassing to say the least. About time the Libs started gettig stuck into all this nonsense with the ALP making more pollution not less. LIBS are greener than the ALP will ever wish to be an dthe greens are plainm stupid. Has anyone not told them that solar panels cost 8 times more than coal. At this stage of their development they are not the answer, maybe in 50 years they maybe but not now. Humans can't wait 50 years, hell we can't wait until 2010, we must act now. Most countries are going nuclear because its the only one that is zero emmissions. What people forget about solar os that there a re not the panels or the materials available for even 5% of the population in the world to go solar. The planet simply doesn't have the materials to do that. Wher nuclear energy not that much ore is required for nuclear power and the waste per million people is only 2.5KG with a half life of 20 years. These lsatest reactors burn nuclear waste down by 10000 to 1. So 10000kg becomes only 1kg of waste. Has to be the way to go. The Chinese are leading the way forward with pebble nuclear reactors which don't even need heavy water unlike the old ones. Go to the ABC.net.au catalist web site on pebble nuclear reactors, all there for all to see or do a google search.

Labour loons have always had very low IQs. Look at Fakey and Peter Peewee Wicks for instance. They know thats where the easy votes are so they do it. That is the key differentiator between the ALP and the LiBs the libs will back good policy whereas the ALP just back popular policy no matter how fucking bad it is.

Qld at least under Sir Joh dropped the upper house which is a better way to go. This way legisalation goes through and if they go to far they get kicked out next time round.

As a public service, from <http://www.wa.greens.org.au/policy/energy> here it is. (It may be good, it may be mad, etc - I make no comment other than to suggest to the Lib running dogs here that they at least read it and comment on any facts from within that they are not happy about. :-) =============startpolicy The Greens (WA) believe that Western Australia needs a long-term State Energy Strategy that charts a course to a secure, reliable and low carbon energy future. The current pathway of fossil fuel dependence and ever-increasing energy consumption is not sustainable given the realities of climate change and the emerging decline of global oil production. Goals The Greens (WA) want: secure and reliable energy supplies reduced dependence on fossil fuels a transition, within this generation, to a low carbon economy based mainly on renewable energy a long-term State Energy Plan to help achieve these goals Initiatives The Greens (WA) will support the development of a State Energy Plan to 2060 that addresses the following matters: Stocktake of energy resources estimates for gas resources and carbon sequestration sites available to 2060 - including the timeline and life cycles of current and likely future gas field developments in Western Australia estimates of coal resources and carbon sequestration sites available to 2060 estimates of renewable energy resources available to 2060 - including solar, wave, wind, biomass and geothermal. Forecast of energy demand energy demand scenarios to 2060, with and without additional energy efficiency measures these scenarios to take into account the remaining life of existing bauxite, nickel and gold mining and associated processing in southern Western Australia, and the implications for gas consumption in these scenarios, also take into account the implications of rising oil prices for changes in energy consumption patterns (e.g. increased electricity consumption from use of electric cars) Transition to an efficient, low-carbon economy measures to promote a rapid transition to an energy-efficient economy based on renewable energy sources (see the Greens (WA) Climate Change policy) progressively increasing targets for renewable energy measures to maximise the supply of natural gas in the transition period, including by reservation of gas for domestic use investigation of the use of solar arrays to increase the energy content of natural gas through the SolarGas process developed by the CSIRO measures to maximize the efficiency of gas use, including investigation of underground gas storage (e.g. in the depleted oil and gas fields in the Perth Basin) to facilitate the use of gas in large scale, hybrid wind-gas systems Improved reliability in energy supply chains vulnerability of existing energy supply chains and the consequences of disruptions to those supply chains a cost-benefit analysis of measures to deal with energy supply disruptions, including underground storage of gas, changes to the design and layout of processing plants and the use of standby plant the opportunities to promote the use of distributed, renewable energy generation to reduce the risk of large scale energy disruptions an audit of existing emergency response plans for energy supply disruptions, and recommendations for changes where necessary. a review of risk management practices in the South West Integrated System electric power grid (SWIS) taking account of the need to reassess these as a consequence of the Varanus Island failure, and recommend changes where necessary consideration of a reserve capacity mechanism for the wholesale gas market, similar to that currently applying in the wholesale electricity market Adaptation to the end of cheap oil the increasing dependence on imported oil as global production approaches decline and timelines for options to adapt, in a national context the mining industrys heavy dependence on diesel for excavation and ore transport and the wider implications for the industrys future the need to give first priority for remaining oil to agriculture and the food chain while adapting agricultural systems to reduce dependence on petroleum products the alternatives to diesel such as liquid natural gas (LNG) in mining and freight transport the opportunities for public engagement programs to inform and empower people to adapt positively to the decline of oil (See The Greens (WA) Transport Policy) Regulatory reform whether regulatory reform is needed for the implementation of the State Energy Plan as part of this assessment, whether competitive market reforms for electric power and domestic gas supply should be modified in favour of a model with less focus on competitive markets and more on cooperation for the common good (e.g. to prevent information needed to assess energy supply and demand patterns being withheld on the basis of commercial confidentiality). The Greens (WA) will support the following measures to implement the State Energy Plan to 2060: establishment of a Sustainable Energy Council, with an independent budget and chair and representation from outside the public service, to oversee the implementation of the State Energy Plan reconstitution of the Sustainable Energy Development Office as the Secretariat to the Sustainable Energy Council ==============endpolicy -- steve.hat.stephencarter.not.com.but.net Nothing is Beatle Proof!!

Would prefer no upper house at all. Then who ever wins government don't have to pander to minority groups as it is now. Works well in Queensland. Then Carp can ban uranium and the next time round if the Libs win they can up do the ban. It does look like M Roberts though who is for uranium may topple Carps after the election, she has the numbers to do just that. She'll have to move against Carps because Carps wants her out. A showdown is coming after the election.

It seems to concentrate on it's own delusion. POT KETTLE BLACK. We miners will hav eads in the West Australian Newspaper starting this Friday going into Saturday news paper to put the GREENS LAST no matter who the public bvote for. About time the GREENS disappear as they have no idea about anything at all. Why would the Greens back coal power stations by giving the ALP its prefferences. The Libs are wanting to go GAS power which uses 50% less carbon than coal. Why would anyone block uranium to China and India for nuclear power stations. The Greens must be in denial at what is the cause of greenhouse gas.

Ask yourself this simple question, why are the Greens backing the ALP who plan to build 5 new coal power stations. The Greens WA have preferrences to the ALP WA which makes absolutely no sense at all. The Libs back Gas power stations which use 50% less carbon than coal, yet the Greens WA back the ALP. The Greens say NO WAY to uranium to China which is so stupid it begs belief. Even the co founder of Greenpeace is pushing not only for uranium but nuclear reactors in Australia. I think the Greens in WA have lost the plot big time. Both parties ought to put the Greens LAST. We miners are so fed up with the greens that we are putting an ad out in Fridays news papers for ALP or Lib voters to put the GREENS LAST amd why. About time the Greens got out as they have no idea about simple sciernce and what is causing greenhouse gasses. If China was to buy Uranium from WA which they want to do then they'll get their greenhouse gas emissions down by far greater than anything the west can ever imagine doing. India is going nuclear for power too. Make ssense because it has ZERO emissions something the dumb ass GREENS have NO IDEA ABOUT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You obviousley have not been a miner or have not lived in WA for very long. ( probably ones of these grubs from over east trying to make his first $million ) Firstly the coal comes from Collie and is a low grade ore , there was legislation put in place 7 or 8 years ago to build more coal fired power stations to keep the coal miners employed in Collie and to stop the township from dying. Not only that , but the newer type of coal fired power stations have a more efficient method of removing emissions before it goes into the atmosphere. <snipped the drivel> > We miners are so fed up with the greens that we are putting an ad out in > Fridays news papers for ALP or Lib voters to put the GREENS LAST > Is that so ? Do they understand science or are they the science fiction party. Solar energy according to the federal ALP government own study says that solar only would increase the power bills by 800%." The Greens' policy document says nothing to substantiate your lies, yet you continue to repeat those lies. Clearly, you are severely deluded. Here is another gen from your deranged brain: "Mercury i sthe most deadly toxin in existence yet its sold in most stores as its in those long life lights. Break one and call the fire brigade in because if you breath in mercury you don't live to long after that, its worst than nuclear waste." You have major problems. Seek help now. > > We miners will hav eads in the West Australian Newspaper starting this > Friday > going into Saturday news paper to put the GREENS LAST no matter who the > public > bvote for. Here is the cite again: http://wa.greens.org.au/policy/energy Read it! Here is the salient section: "measures to maximise the supply of natural gas in the transition period, including by reservation of gas for domestic use" > > Why would anyone block uranium to China and India for nuclear power > stations. **India does not need Uranium. India has huge supplies of thorium. Thoriuym is used to make nuclear energy. The ONLY downside of thorium, is that a nation cannot make bombs out of it. Why do you think India wants Uranium (given that it has all the thorium it requires to make reactors)? > The Greens must be in denial at what is the cause of greenhouse gas. **The Greens know why nations like China and India want uranium. HINT: It's not to make nuclear energy. -- Trevor Wilson www.rageaudio.com.au
